FAQs
Q. What if the documentation only captures a superficial or curated version of each neighborhood, missing out on a comprehensive understanding?
A. I totally get this concern. My aim is to provide a well-rounded portrayal by including various perspectives and experiences. I’ll dig deeper to go beyond the surface, ensuring you get a true sense of each neighborhood’s character.
Q. Have you considered how cameras and recorders might affect the authenticity of interview responses, potentially leading to biased representations?
A. This is a valid point. I’ll handle the presence of cameras and recorders with care, creating a comfortable environment for interviewees to speak openly. I aim to minimize any influence on their authenticity and capture their genuine experiences.
Q. What about the argument that photographs and videos can be selectively edited to support a specific narrative, possibly ignoring the full reality?
A. To counter this skepticism, I’ll prioritize transparency and diversity in my visual representations. By presenting a balanced view and showing different aspects of each neighborhood, I’ll strive to reflect the full reality and provide a complete picture.

This has the potential to be a very interesting site, Rolfe. A good start would be right here. There are a lot of people who have been in our neighborhood for decades (some even all of their lives) and many who have found Sunset Park an old-style, solid housing type of neighborhood and decided to buy here. There are others in the city that have their own characters and characteristics that you may find interesting.
Thanks, Sandy. I’m looking forward to gathering and sharing lots of folks’ stories!
